Online Invoicing – an experiment.

I recently tried out online invoicing through Greener Billing and Freshbooks. They take the hassle out of quoting, invoicing and tracking payments by automating certain processes. I thought this would be a perfect fit for my small business.

I found Freshbooks support to be amazing and in general, the better option.

However, the big turnoff for me turned out to be a little thing – neither would allow me to customize the look or structure of the invoices to suit my needs. An invoice is an extension of your brand visually and the most important letter you send your client. Being the detail-orientated person I am, this didn’t work for me. I wanted custom options – including being able to change the titles to something more relevant.

Ok, so theirs isn’t that bad but I still prefer what I have now. So back to my usual way of creating invoices and keeping track of who’s paid.
